Van Niekerk Vintners
VNV was born in the heart of the beautiful Overberg in 2019, a perfect setting to pay tribute to the Van Niekerk family history. It was here that winemaker Albert van Niekerk grew up on the family farm, owned by the Van Niekerks for 6 generations.
The van Niekerk Vintners range consists of two wines, Rebellie (Grenache Noir) and Sonwater (Chenin Blanc/Clairette Blanche blend). Grapes are hand selected from various vineyard blocks across the Western Cape where the focus is more on heritage with an emphasis on quality instead of quantity. The vinification process is unadorned with as little as possible intervention allowing the wine to determine its own course.
Maånskyñ
Maånskyñ is home to a collection of delicious and beautiful things.
This delightful Cafe/Deli is located at the top of Oak street. Easily recognisable, with it’s midnight blue, gabled facade, Maånskyñ is also well known for it’s small batch ice cream, made on site. The story of Maånskyñ is an unfolding. It began with lockdown, when Lori and her family had an opportunity to ride out lockdown, here in Greyton. And soon began a love affair – with the mountains, the rivers, the people and their way of life.
Karoo Art Hotel
Situated in Barrydale, is the newly transformed Karoo Art Hotel. Reopened on 2 March 2022, with new owners Sue & Rick Melvill. The hotel, which has always been ‘creatively driven’ has a fresh look with some bold design choices.

Is a Vintage Diner & Motel (The Karoo Moon Motel), situated on the scenic Route 62 in Barrydale. With great food, friendly staff and drool worthy Vintage décor all combine to ensure a memorable experience. This venue is child-friendly, bicycle-friendly and motorbike-friendly.Diesel & Crème is a café diner open daily from 08:00 – 17:00. Our menu caters for every dietary requirement and is updated once a season.
We offer 4 accommodation units consisting of the Karoo Moon Motel adjacent to the restaurant and The Karoo Moon House & Cottage in a more rural setting, that can sleep a total of 10 persons.Diesel & Crème is very popular and reservations should be made to avoid disappointment.

The Karoo Moon Motel
Next door to Diesel & Creme is the Karoo Moon Motel. Originally built as a homestead in 1896, Motel has been lovingly restored to its current grace during 2014. Each room provides you with a minibar. There is a kitchenette with a microwave and a refrigerator. The private bathroom also comes with free toiletries. You can enjoy mountain view from the room. At The Karoo Moon Motel you will find a garden, barbecue facilities, bar and a shared fireplace and lounge area. The property also offers free parking and Wi-Fi.
